Why is the color of the circuit board different? How many colors does the circuit board have? At present, the PCB circuit boards in the market are more common in green, black, blue, yellow, purple, red and brown; recently, PCBs of different colors such as white and pink have appeared. So, why do PCB circuit boards come in a variety of different colors?

In the production of PCB boards, no matter whether the copper layer is manufactured by an additive method or a subtractive method, a smooth and unprotected surface will be obtained in the end. Although the chemical properties of copper are not as active as aluminum, iron, magnesium, etc., in the presence of water, pure copper is easily oxidized in contact with oxygen. Because the thickness of the copper layer in the PCB circuit board is very thin, the oxidized copper will become a poor conductor of electricity, which will greatly damage the electrical performance of the entire PCB.

In order to prevent copper oxidation, and also to separate the soldered and non-soldered parts of the PCB during soldering, and to protect the surface of the PCB circuit board, the design engineers painted a special paint on the surface of the PCB board to form a certain thickness of protection Layer and block the contact between copper and air. This layer of coating is called a solder mask, and the material used is a solder mask.

PCB in order to facilitate maintenance and manufacturing, often need to print small text on the board. Therefore, engineers added various colors to the solder resist paint, and finally formed a black, red, or blue PCB.

From this point of view, the color of the PCB board has nothing to do with the quality of the PCB. The difference between black PCB, blue PCB, yellow PCB and other colors PCB is the color of solder resist paint on the final brush. If the PCB design and manufacturing process are exactly the same, the color will not have any impact on performance or heat dissipation. In recent years, people have used more PCB circuit boards in dark green, dark brown, dark blue and other solder resist paints, the purpose is to facilitate manufacturing and maintenance.

There are several colors of circuit boards, why are they different colors? Speaking of which, I believe everyone is basically clear now!
