When the circuit board is spliced and connected, the insufficient width of the connecting bridge will cause the deformation of the circuit board. If the width size and stiffness design of the connecting bridge are insufficient, the deformation of the PCB will be exacerbated.
Experiments in the circuit board manufacturing factory show that the stiffness and width of the connecting bridge are of great significance to improve the deformation of the circuit board and splicing circuit board. For the splicing board with PCB thickness ≤ 1mm, the width of the connecting bridge should be ≥ 5mm, preferably 7mm. The layout in the connecting bridge is all copper to improve the stiffness. Our company has the following suggestions on the design of splice plates:
(1) The rigidity of the connecting bridge is of great significance to reduce the deformation of ultra-thin circuit board. Therefore, it is recommended that the width of the connecting bridge be designed as 7mm and the copper is arranged on the whole floor (0.5mm smaller than the slot width), as shown in the figure below:
(2) The width of process edge must be ≥ 10mm, and copper shall be laid on the whole floor
(3) Panel exclusion cannot be more than 2 rows.
(4) If the connecting bridge cannot be directly used to connect the daughter boards, and the excessive connecting strip / fast connection must be adopted, it is recommended to increase the overall stiffness and widen the width of the connecting strip to more than 5mm for thimble support.
