There is a growing trend towards using sustainable materials in the production of printed circuit boards. A group of researchers has successfully developed a new type of biodegradable insulating material for PCBs. This material is made from natural polymers and can be easily decomposed at the end of the PCB’s life cycle. In addition, the new material has comparable electrical performance to traditional PCB materials. The use of such sustainable materials can significantly reduce the environmental impact of PCB manufacturing and disposal, contributing to a more circular economy in the electronics industry.
